REGULATIONS OF COMPETITION
I
1. Organiser of competition:
Państwowa Szkoła Muzyczna I i II stopnia im. Fryderyka Chopina, Nowy Sącz
and Sądeckie Towarzystwo Muzyczne
Director: Józef Witold Buszek
Artistic director: Zbigniew Dubiella
Director of competition: Ryszard Bałauszko
2. Competition will take place in Krynica - Zdrój, 21st - 28th January 2012. Competition hearings will take place in Old Spa House.
3. Competition is open for polish and foreign guitarists.
4. Competition is addressed to two groups of guitarists:
Group 1 - born after 31st December 1994
Group 2 - born after 31st December 1985
II
1. The competitors will be judged by the jury appointed by Director of Centrum Edukacji Artystycznej.
2. The final results will be calculated as the sum of points scored at first and second stage.
3. Decision of jury is final.
4. Prizes:
Group 1
1st prize - 3000 PLN, guitar, free of charge stay in Krynica in 2014, concert, accessories
2nd prize - 2000 PLN, accessories
3rd prize - 1500 PLN, accessories
Group 2
1st prize - 5500 PLN, guitar, free of charge stay in Krynica in 2014, concert, accessories
2nd prize - 4000 PLN, accessories
3rd prize - 3000 PLN, accessories
5. Jury reserve the right to different distribution of prizes.
III
1. All performances in the competition are open for the public.
2. The order of performances will be choose randomly. Determine the order of performances will take place on 21st January 2012.
3. All performances in the competition must be made entirely from memory.
IV
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
1. The application should include:
competitor's/observer's application form,
the registration fee 200 PLN (included free admission to all concerts and masterclasses) should be transfered to the account:

In the case of resignation from participation in competition the fee will not be return.
2. Charge of stay in Krynica 700 PLN (accomodation, full board).
3. Deadline: 15th December 2012

PROGRAMME
Group 1
(born after 31st December 1994)
1st Stage
1. Freely chosen piece originally composed for the guitar in 19th century.
2. Freely chosen programme.
Total time: 7 - 10 minutes
If point 1 takes all required time of the 1st Stage, point 2 will be not demanded
2nd Stage
1. Theme with variations originally composed for the guitar.
2. Freely chosen piece composed by Latin American composer.
3. Freely chosen programme.
Total time: 15 - 20 minutes
If point 1 and 2 takes all required time of the 1st Stage, point 3 will be not demanded
Programme of the 2nd Stage should include pieces composed in two different musical periods
Group 2
(born after 31st December 1985)
1st Stage
1. Freely chosen piece originally composed for the guitar in 19th century.
2. Freely chosen piece composed by Agustin Barrios Mangore.
3. Freely chosen programme.
Total time: 12 - 15 minutes
If point 1 and 2 takes all required time of the 1st Stage, point 3 will be not demanded
2nd Stage
1. Two freely chosen pieces composed by Latin American composer.
2. One of the following musical forms to choice:
complete form of sonata or sonatina (at least three parts),
complete suita or partita (at least three parts),
freely chosen complete cyclical form (at least three parts)
(e. g. Prelude, Fugue and Allegro BWV 998 by J. S. Bach or "Five Bagatelles"
by W. Walton or "Tres Piezas Espanoles" by Rodrigo etc.),
theme with variations.
3. Freely chosen programme.
Total time: 25 - 30 minutes
If point 1 and 2 takes all required time of the 1st Stage, point 3 will be not demanded
Programme of the 2nd Stage should include pieces composed in two different musical periods
